Tai Chi: 13 Forms of Harmony 4-Day Workshop

with Master Li Shi Feng
28June – 2 July 2026 | Dragonfly Village, Ubud, Bali

Over four days, you’ll train the foundational energies of the Tai Chi 13 Forms of Harmony — Peng, Lü, Ji, and An — through Qigong, solo drills, and structured partner work. Each session builds on the last, until all four energies move together with the stepping patterns as one continuous practice. 9:00 AM – 5:00 PM daily | All levels welcome

Overview

The Tai Chi 13 Forms of Harmony is one of the classical frameworks of the art, a system built around the 8 Energies (Ba Men) and 5 Steps (Wu Bu) that underpin all Tai Chi movement.

Over four full days, led by Master Li Shi Feng, participants train the four foundational energies of the system: Peng (structural expansion), Lü (yielding and redirection), Ji (coordinated forward intent), and An (grounding and release). These are trained progressively through Qigong, solo drills, and structured partner work, each session building on the last.

By the final afternoon, these energies move together with the stepping patterns as one continuous, integrated practice. No prior Tai Chi experience is required.

Retreat Details

  • Retreat: Tai Chi: 13 Forms of Harmony
  • Dates: 28 June – 2 July 2026

WHAT YOU WILL TRAIN

  • Wuji & Zhong Ding: central balance and structural alignment
  • Peng: building the expansive energetic frame that supports all other movement
  • Lü & Ji: the dynamic pair of yielding and expressing forward intent
  • An: grounding, release, and the full cycle of internal force
  • Wu Bu: the five stepping patterns linking the energies into continuous movement — Partner sensitivity drills that bring each energy to life through contact
  • Final integration: all four energies moving through stepping patterns as one practice

Teaching Method

Each day follows a consistent experiential loop:

  1. Feel the quality through Qigong
  2. Refine it through solo drills
  3. Express it within the form
  4. Test it through partner interaction
  5. Understand it through reflection

Each energy is introduced progressively and reinforced through repetition and application.

What You Will Experience

By the end of the program, participants begin to develop:

  • A stable and relaxed center (Zhong Ding)
  • Continuous structural support (Peng)
  • The ability to yield and redirect without resistance
  • Integration of all 8 energies within movement

The focus is not on performance, but on developing a functional internal system that can respond naturally.

He is co-founder of the Li Shifeng Kungfu Academy and the Zhong Jin Dao Training System, a body–mind–energy path rooted in balance, discipline, and internal cultivation.

His teaching integrates traditional Shaolin training with the philosophical foundations of Buddhism, Taoism, and Confucianism.

For more than a decade, Shifu Li has shared Shaolin, Qigong, Tai Chi, and classical Chinese philosophy with students from over 120 countries across Asia, Europe, the Americas, and beyond.

His approach combines precise technical instruction with direct personal correction, guiding practitioners to develop structure, internal power, and clarity through authentic practice.

Master Li Shi Feng Testimonial's Student

Li Shi Feng

Today marks three years of training with Li.

When everything shut down, new ways of learning had to emerge. Training Taiji online felt like stepping into the unknown — something no one had really done before.

But given my situation, I didn’t have another option. Norway and China are not exactly around the corner.

Still, the path reveals itself as you walk it.

Thank you, Li, for opening this world to me. You’ve been a teacher, a friend, and a Kungfu brother — all in one.

“The taste of Taiji and Kung fu is great! Many would ask why bother?!
I would not want to miss it for the world.
I am so grateful I got the chance!”

— Lene Ripnes

Training with Shifu

I was far from perfect, but I’m deeply grateful for the opportunity
to travel to Iserlohn and train with such a masterful teacher while
experiencing his unique system firsthand.

He broadened my understanding of the practice, helped ground my forms,
and offered far more than I ever expected.

Thank you, Shifu.

Kat Solo testimonial

I was far from perfect, but I’m grateful to have had the opportunity
to travel to Iserlohn and train with such a masterful Shifu while
learning his unique system.

He expanded my perspective on the practice, helped ground my forms,
and offered much more than I expected.

Thank you, Shifu!
