Nurturing Qi: Foundations of Qigong and Traditional Chinese Medicine for Health

with Jonwin Lee | 31 Aug-2 Sep 2026 | Dragonfly Village, Ubud, Bali

Over three days, discover the foundations of Qigong and Traditional Chinese Medicine under the guidance of Jonwin Lee, Doctor of TCM and experienced teacher of internal martial arts. 9 AM – 4:30 PM daily | All levels welcome

Overview

Qigong and Traditional Chinese Medicine share the same root: an understanding of Qi, the life force that moves through the body, and how to keep it balanced. One works through movement, the other through theory. Together, they offer a complete framework for lasting health.

Over three full days at Dragonfly Village, movement stays at the heart of the workshop while TCM theory is woven in alongside it. Each day opens with Qigong practice, moves into theory covering Qi, Yin and Yang, the Five Elements, and the body’s meridian system, and closes with time to integrate what you’ve learned,  with space each afternoon to ask Jonwin questions directly and practice in the shala.

Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)

No. This workshop is designed for complete beginners as well as those with prior experience. All levels are welcome.

Traditional Chinese Medicine, often shortened to TCM, is a system of health and healing that developed in China over thousands of years. It looks at the body as a whole, rather than treating symptoms in isolation, and works with the idea that a life force called Qi flows through the body along pathways known as meridians. When Qi flows freely and stays in balance, the body stays healthy. When that flow becomes blocked or unbalanced, illness or discomfort can follow.

TCM uses several tools to understand and support this balance, including acupuncture, herbal medicine, dietary guidance, massage, and movement practices such as Qigong and Tai Chi. Central to TCM thinking are concepts like Yin and Yang, the balance of opposing forces in the body, and the Five Elements, a framework that links different organs, emotions, and seasons together.

You do not need any background in TCM to take part in this workshop. Jonwin will introduce these ideas clearly and in plain language, and you will get to experience them directly through the Qigong practice itself, so the theory has something real to connect to.
